There are several solutions and use cases for real-time video stream analysis in the industry. Recently we encountered a situation where a customer wanted to use this capability for loss prevention in some of their storage yards for automotive spare parts. We solved this problem using an AWS Rekognition Lambda function with notification enabled using SNS. This involved video stream analytics in near real time.

In this presentation we discuss the problem statement and solution implemented, our learnings from the same and a deeper dive into the capabilities the technical capabilities of these platforms that may help solve similar problems involving video stream analytics.
